Imitation Crab Safe?
I'm dying to make crab salad for a lite dinner tonight. I've read conflicting things but for the most part it seems safe. I haven't had it since becoming pregnant and would love to have it today.
And sushi from Safeway? Just California rolls. I'm dying to eat those. Bump!

I'm allergic to that red dye they use. Not sure what it is, sulpher dioxide to prolong freshness?
Why not go for the real thing? It's allowed.

That's what I'm saying-why eat the fake crap when the real yummy thing is ok to eat :)

Yes, imitation crab is fine. They use Pollock to make it, which isn't on the forbidden fish list.
California rolls are okay too. They are considered 'cooked' sushi.
I personally wouldn't eat sushi from a gas station...it's just all kinds of a bad idea.

Sorry ladies but I can't afford real crab right now. Plus I actually like the imitation crab.
It's crab with a "k"! Krab! Haha. Yeah it's just flavored white fish.

YES.. California Rolls are my addiction and I think if I was told i couldnt have them I would cry. I too can eat imitation crab meat straight from the pack :) Kroger seels a yummy crap dip that is so good with Ritz. My doctor did say when eating at a sushi restaurant to tell them you are pregnant because alot of times they'll use the same knife in cutting raw fish. I am in kinda a small town so when we go to the Japanese place they laugh and say "we know.. a new knife."

My hubby's mom made a pasta salad with imitation crab meat and we had it for dinner too. Yum!!! I love imitation crab!!
